It’s been a busy year so far here at SAIL Autism and our Teen and Young adult groups have been going from strength to strength. Our members have been doing a great job helping with fundraising and all their hard work has paid off as their efforts will help subsidise our summer programme of trips and activities.
Now that the sun has come out and we are enjoying the better weather summer seems just around the corner! Here at SAIL we have been busy organising lots to keep our young people busy over the long, and we hope, hot summer.
Our regular weekly social groups will take a break over the summer and a weekly social group for both teens and young adults will take their place. This will run on Wednesdays thru out the summer holiday period, every week will have a different theme so we hope there will be something for everyone in the mix.
We have 4 trips running this summer catering for all ages from tots to adults. These trips are open to people with autism and their immediate families or carers. Places are allocated on a first come basis and can be booked by emailing us at Linda@sailautism.org.uk
All trips are offered at the subsidised price of £12 per person, places can be held with a deposit of £5 per place with balance due by 25th June.
So where are we going and when?
Monday 2nd July Edinburgh Dungeons (over 12’s)
Creepy good fun! Bear in mind some areas are very dark. There will be sometime to explore Edinburgh or grab something to eat after the dungeons visit.
Wednesday 25th July Culzean castle (all ages)
Beautiful castle perched on the Ayrshire coast. Nice walks, beach and caves to explore, also a large adventure playground. Shop, cafe etc.
Tuesday 31st July Almond Valley Heritage Farm park (all ages)
Open to all ages but especially suitable for families with younger children. Animals, pet handling, adventure playground, indoor play area, museum, heritage buildings.
Train ride & tractor ride included in price.
Tuesday 7th August Boness Steam Railway & Museum (all ages)
Steam train ride lasts just over an hour, packed lunches can be eaten during the journey. There is then a short walk to the interactive Steam museum. Steam & railway themed shop onsite selling lots of railway memorabilia and Thomas Tank engine merchandise)
All trips include return coach travel from pick up points in East Kilbride & Hamilton & entry to venue/activity. Pick up times & locations will be advised on booking. Most trips leave around 10am and return around 4:30pm

Weekly Summer activities
In addition to our trips we will be holding weekly activity sessions every Wednesday night from 7pm – 9pm. These are open to Teens (12+) and young adults. Each week will have a different activity and each session MUST be booked in advance.
Cost per session will be £5, payable at time of booking.

Who doesn’t love Lego! Whether you are 2 or 102 there is so much you can create from imagination to reality. All bricks provided!
Wed 11th July Just Chill!
Kick back , relax and experience total calm with our guided meditation and Reiki relaxation session. Total bliss in a busy world!
Wed 18th July Delicious & Nutritious
Come along and whip up some amazing smoothies and treats , so good you wont believe they are good for you!
Wed 25th July No Evening session as this is our Culzean castle trip.
Wed 1st August Art & music
Learn how to tell a tale using music instruments and creative fun.
Wed 8th August Summer garden party
Summer fun in our garden with basketball, outdoor games, creative fun, tasty snacks and delicious Mocktails. If the sun don’t shine we won’t let it dampen our summer vibe, we will just move indoors and continue the fun!
Remember, these sessions MUST be pre-booked as we have a set capacity for each activity.
